UPDATED PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE
Date: June 23, 2026
Due to a water main break today on Orchard Heights Drive also affecting Hopeview Ct., Devito Drive and North Hill Lane, The Town has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice. We recommend that all water used from this supply be rapidly boiled for at least one (1) minute prior to use for either drinking or food preparation purposes. Another alternative is to use bottled water, certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
You should continue this practice until you receive notification from the Town
of Newburgh Water Department.
Harmful microbes in drinking water can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms and may pose a special health risk for infants, some elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems. But these symptoms are not just caused by microbes in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you should seek medical advice.
If you have any questions relative to the utilization of water from this supply, please do not hesitate to contact the Town of Newburgh Water Department at
845-564-7813.
Please share this information with other people who drink this water, especially anyone who may not get this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
