 The Code Compliance Department issues hundreds of permits per year amounting to Millions of Dollars in Construction Costs.

The Code Compliance Department assists the public in acquiring Building Permits and Certificates of Occupance for new and existing structures, both residential and commercial.

The Department is also responsible for investigating municipal complaints concerning code violations.

The two full-time Fire Inspectors are responsible for conducting annual fire inspections, including plan reviews for over 1200 new and existing businesses within the programs such as “Learn Not to Burn” and “Risk Watch”. Through the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Inspectors provide support to the Town Fire Departments in the areas of code enforcement and Fire Investigation.

The 911 Clerk verifies and enters new road names for the Town, issues house numbers for new projects, and changes respective ownership of properties.
